Imagine this fictional scenario:
The government authorities demanded for the temple tax from Peter and Jesus.
Jesus told Peter to catch a fish and pick a coin from its mouth.
Jesus didnât say, âThe first fishâŠâ
But He said, âJust catch a fish and pick a coin from its mouth.â
Then Peter went fishing.
He opened the mouth of the first fish, but didnât find a coin. So, he tossed it aside.
Then Peter opened the mouth of the second fish he caught, but didnât find a coin either.
And on and on until he opened the mouth of the fifth fish.
At this point, the devil watching him would be wondering what Peter was looking for and whether he could hide it from Peter.
In reality, Jesus said, âThe first fish,â because time is of the essence.
When God gives you an idea to make money, you need to act fast.
This is because you are not the only person who received the idea.
Dear Parent,
You need to ACT FAST!

You don’t prepare for battle during the war.
There is a time lapse between when God gives you an idea and when you are supposed to execute the plan.
This makes room for preparation, planning, and execution.
It also makes room for possible mistakes.
Letâs take a look at Noah.
According to Biblical timelines and records, Noah was around 500 years old when he began building the ark. And the floodwaters started when he was 600 years old (Genesis 6, 7).
So, for about 100 years, Noah was building the ark.
If he had delayed in obeying God, the ark would not have been ready before the floodwaters came.
All humanity would have been destroyed.
Isaac excelled during the famine
God told him not to go down to Egypt, but He would bless him in Gerar (Genesis 26:2-5).
The Lord gave Isaac instructions, and as he sowed in the land he reaped a hundredfold Genesis 26:12â13).
In the midst of a famine, God taught him how to excel despite harsh conditions.
Prompt obedience yielded profitable results.

Joseph was prepared for the famine
After Pharaoh told Joseph his dreams, Joseph knew a 7-year famine was imminent, and he didnât delay in getting Pharaoh to prepare for it (Genesis 41:29â36).
Pharaohâs and Josephâs prompt actions resulted in the preservation of lives.
God will give you time to act before itâs too late, but donât think you should take all the time in the world to take action.
There have been recurring cycles of famine throughout history.
Donât think you will never witness a famine in your lifetime.

One trait successful people exhibit is a sense of urgency.
Remember what Jesus said about the Masterâs return:
âBut of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is comingâin the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morningâ lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!â
â Mark 13:32â37
Only God knows how much time is required to achieve the goals He has given you.
Or whether you will achieve them in your lifetime.
Once you are sure the goals are from God, ask Him how to go about achieving those goals.
Ask for His plans, His purposes, and how to pursue them.
And get started immediately.
I want to hear from you: Do you delay whenever God gives you an instruction that will make you prosper?
