Speak the Blessing, Part One

Dear Parent, I have a gift for you…

But first, I want to share a SECRET with you:

Do you know that God’s word in your mouth is just as powerful as His word in His mouth — ONLY IF you believe it?

The more you say it, the more you believe it, and the more you believe it, the more it becomes more real to you.

It’s sad to say that many of us place curses on ourselves with our words.

We don’t realize how powerful our words are on our children, and even on ourselves.

When God told the Israelites that He was bringing them into a land flowing with milk and honey (Leviticus 20:24) at first they were excited, but later got discouraged when they saw the challenges in front of them (Numbers 13:26–28).

So, they spoke against themselves, and against what God had promised, and His reply was, “…just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you.” (Numbers 14:28).

Many people say God is sovereign and supreme over everything and everybody. But if your thoughts and words don’t agree with God’s Word, even God Himself CANNOT HELP YOU!

We sing the song “Abraham’s Blessings are Mine…” But do you know what the Bible said about Abraham’s belief in God’s promise to bless him? “He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God.” (Romans 4:20).

So now… let’s talk about one of the resultant effects of God’s blessing over Abraham: He was “…very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.” (Genesis 13:2).

Yes. Wealth. One of the fruits of God’s blessing.

So let me ask you this: Did God rain down livestock, silver, and gold from heaven to bless Abraham?

How do you think God blessed him?

With WORDS! God blessed Abraham with WORDS first, and later blessed him with IDEAS.

Now you know God promises to bless us when we pay our tithes and offerings — Malachi 3:10 (I believe this, and I’m not going to argue with anyone who thinks otherwise).

How is He going to bless us when we give into His storehouse?

With IDEAS.

In Sam Adeyemi’s book “The Parable of Dollars” He wrote, “I have been paying tithes for about fifteen years. I have never seen money drop down from heaven.”

God gives us IDEAS to generate the wealth that He has already blessed us with.

He has already blessed us with WORDS.

How do I know this? Galatians 3:13 says that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law… so that the blessing of Abraham might come upon us…

What is the blessing of Abraham? WORDS.

Are you in Christ? Then the blessing of Abraham is yours because you are an heir according to the promise (Galatians 3:29).

So, it would not be out of place to speak those same blessings over yourself believing that if you speak them in faith, they will become a reality for you.
